Mendel Art Gallery: Summer exhibition­s emphasize abstract art and run until Sept. 15. The Automatist­e Revolution: Montreal 19411960 includes works by Jean-Paul Riopelle and PaulEmile Borduas. An Art at the Mercy of Light features works by Eli Bornstein. Shaping Saskatchew­an: the art scene 1936-1964 examines a lively period in the province’s artistic developmen­t. Berlin-based Canadian artist Rodney LaTourelle created Leaves, an installati­on of geometric structures, for the gallery lobby.
