Green Day’s American Idiot: the Musical!

A critical smash on Broadway and in London, the two-time Tony Award® winning hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT tells the story of three lifelong friends, forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia. Based on Green Day’s 2004 Grammy® Award-winning multi-platinum album, the musical features the hits “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “21 Guns,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Holiday” and the blockbuster title track, AMERICAN IDIOT. The album launched the band into super stardom, selling over 12 million copies and winning the Grammy® for Rock Album of the Year, revolutionizing rock music.

The rock-opera musical boldly takes the American musical where it’s never gone before. Green Day collaborated with the Tony award-winning director Mayer who was attracted to the strong emotional narrative in the album. Mayer assembled one of the most innovative teams in the theatre to join with Green Day and bring American Idiot to the stage.
