DOWN AND OUT
SOCHI, Russia — Age can sneak up on you, even when you’re an Olympic athlete. After finishing 21st in the men’s 1,000-metre speedskating competition Wednesday, South Korea’s Kyou Kyuk Lee announced his retirement. “This morning when I was having a shower, I looked in the mirror and discovered that my body is getting older,” Lee said. “It is my last competition because I don’t have the self-confidence any more to get good results in racing.” Lee, 35, was competing in his sixth Olympic Games. His best finish was fourth in the 1,000 in Vancouver.
