Huskies get set to stoke T-Birds rivalry

It’ll be a busy weekend on the University of Saskatchew­an campus.

The University of Saskatchew­an Huskies will have three of their teams playing at the same time Friday night at 7 p.m. as part of their respective Canada West conference best-of-three playoff series. Interestin­gly, two of the playoff series will feature Saskatchew­an against the University of British Columbia Thunderbir­ds.

The Huskies will then also face the T-Birds in the Canada West women’s basketball quarter-final Feb. 28March 2. Here’s a look at the Huskies’ playoff matchups:

Men’s basketball

Saskatchew­an versus Thompson Rivers University WolfPack, Best-of-three Canada West quarter-final. Games Friday, Saturday, and, if needed, Sunday at 7 p.m. at The PAC, U of S campus.

Men’s hockey

Saskatchew­an vs. UBC TBirds. Best-of-three Canada West quarter-final. All games at Credit Union Centre. Game time is 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon. A third game, if necessary, would go at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Women’s hockey

Saskatchew­an vs. UBC. Best-of-three Canada West quarter-final. Game time is 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and, if needed, Sunday, at Rutherford Rink on the U of S campus.

Women’s basketball

Saskatchew­an at UBC Thunderbir­ds, Best-of-three Canada West quarter-final Feb. 28-March 2 in Vancouver, B.C.
