Riders to practise at two locations
Observations after Day 7 of the Saskatchewan Roughriders training camp at the University of Saskatchewan’s Griffiths Stadium:
ON THE ROAD
Monday morning’s session is to be held at the SaskTel Sports Centre on Attridge Drive. They are back at Griffiths Stadium in the afternoon.
RIDERVILLE NORTH
Approximately 1,000 fans were on hand for Saturday’s practice and mock game. The appreciative crowd cheered when the players took the field and all of the receptions. The Riders are to return to Saskatoon for their 2015 training camp.
FAMILY TIME
Some players took time to sign autographs and mingle with the fans after the mock game. It was an unscheduled event and served as a reminder that CFL players are among the most accessible in professional sports.
TOUCHDOWN!
Rob Bagg, Chaz Schilens and Ryan Smith all scored receiving touchdowns in Saturday’s mock game. Bagg’s was particularly smooth as he kept his balance while hauling in a pass from Tino Sunseri in the corner of the end zone. Defensive back Macho Harris also returned a fumble for a touchdown and running back Jermaine Thomas rushed for a TD.
MURRAY’S MONSTER
Defensive end Hilee Taylor continues to improve in his second season with the Riders. Taylor would have sacked Sunseri on one rush and later slapped Sunseri’s arm when the quarterback was attempting a pass. Taylor’s name hasn’t been mentioned much at camp, but he did more than enough to be Murray’s Monster on Saturday.

to change): There is a full practice Monday from 8:15 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the SaskTel Soccer Centre, followed by another session from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the University of Saskatchewan’s Griffiths Stadium.
