Federer back in winning form
HALLE, Germany — Roger Federer won the Gerry Weber open for the seventh time by defeating Alejandro Falla 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3) in the final on Sunday.
Federer fired five aces and saved three of the five break points he faced to win in one hour, 28 minutes. It was the 32-year-old’s 14th title on grass and 79th overall.
Meanwhile, in Birmingham, England, Ana Ivanovic captured her first grass court title with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova at the Aegon Classic.
