REGINA — RCMP are trying to determine what happened to a man who died outside Arcola over the weekend while he was walking home from a Christmas party.

At 3:10 a.m. Saturday, Carlyle RCMP were called to a possible hitand-run collision on Balmoral Avenue, one kilometre from Arcola, after four men discovered a deceased man lying in the road, according to a media release issued Tuesday.

A preliminary investigation found the man, 34-year-old Christian Thomas Bouchard, had been at a party at a hall on Balmoral Avenue in Arcola. He was last seen walking down the road toward a work camp at approximately 2:20 a.m.

All of his belongings, including wallet and cellphone, were found nearby, the release noted.

No charges have been laid in Bouchard’s death. An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday in Saskatoon.

While police were on the scene investigating, a 25-year-old man pulled up in a pickup truck and got out when officers saw signs of impairment. Police charged him with impaired driving.

RCMP are also looking for a man who may have been walking on Range Road 2044 and may have information about the incident. He is described as having a slim build, with dark hair and a beard, wearing a black hat, dark plaid jacket and jeans.
