Westleys out of PJHL playoffs

After back-to-back losses on Saturday and Sunday, the Saskatoon Westleys were eliminated from the PJHL playoffs by the Tri Town Thunder 3-1 in the best-offive North Survivor Series.

Down 5-2 at the midway point of the second period on Saturday, the Westleys attempted a comeback, scoring two goals, but Tri Town held them off to earn the eventual 5-4 victory and take a 2-1 series lead.

On Sunday, Saskatoon’s Landon Volk scored four minutes, 42 seconds into the third period to tie the game 2-2, but Tri Town fought back with goals from Zach Garrett and Rick Mack to take the game 4-2 and give them the series victory.

The best- of- five South Survivor Series between the Silver Foxes and Fort Knox is tied 1-1, following a 5-4 victory for Fort Knox on Friday and a 5-1 win for the Silver Foxes on Saturday.
