STAINED-GLASS CABIN SANCTUARY

-

A stained-glass artist has taken a passion for her art and applied it to a unique setting: a cabin in the woods.

Neile Cooper, who calls her backyard escape The Glass Cabin, built her 99-squarefoot handmade abode almost entirely out of reclaimed window frames and glass panels that feature elements from nature, reports Colossal, an art and visual culture blog.

Cooper, who is a successful jewelry maker, says she missed the depth of work that her stained glass commissions had brought her.

Along with her partner, Robert Giaquinta, they decided to add a stained-glass cabin to their one-and-a-half acre property in Lake Mohawk, N.J., about 66 kilometres northwest of Newark.

Cooper says she uses the space for guests, romantic dinners, reading and even yoga.
