CAVS VS. RAPTORS BY THE NUMBERS

-

62.2

The shooting percentage of LeBron James in last year’s Eastern Conference finals. The leading scorer for the Cavs against the Raptors, LeBron shot just 33 per cent on his threepoint attempts in the series. But he was a remarkable 83 per cent on his two-point shot attempts. Analysis: that is good.

9.0

Channing Frye’s points per game against the Raptors in the playoffs last year. Nine points isn’t that many, but Frye managed it in just 16.4 minutes. The reason for that efficiency: Frye shot 62.5 per cent for the series, and an absurd 58.3 per cent from three-point range. Note to Raptors: do not forget about Frye on the perimeter.

6.4

Minutes per game for Norman Powell in last year’s Eastern Conference finals. Powell was Dwane Casey’s biggest adjustment against the Bucks in the first round, averaging 24 minutes a game — and that after playing just five minutes in Game 1 and not appearing at all in Game 2. But Powell is likely to go back to the bench against the Cavs, as Toronto will need the rebounding of Jonas Valanciunas against the big front line of Cleveland.
