Pulse survey raises many questions

-

Reading “Taking the Pulse” from March 24 raises a lot of questions.

First and foremost is that the group conducting the survey does not seem interested in why women choose abortions in the first place.

This group seems most interested in just seeing the numbers going up as they see that as a positive thing.

From my encounters with women who have had abortions the number one reason they chose to have an abortion is because they felt they had no choice.

It was either their boyfriend, husband or parent who pushed them into having the abortion.

They had no support systems around them that would actually support them in having their child.

It seems to me that we should be finding out how many women suffer from post-abortion syndrome and use our precious health dollars to help support these women and learn from them what other supports are needed in this province so other women would not go through what these post-abortive women are experiencing.

The only groups I know of which support women are pro-life groups which are Christian based.

I do not know of any prochoice groups who actually help women by supporting their choice to have their child; they only seem interested in helping them get an abortion.
