A RELAXED PACE

Homes by Dream’s new pocket neighbourhood sits alongside a park and has plenty of outdoor space

It’s a brand new concept for Homes by Dream in Saskatoon. Located at 530 Underhill Link in the new Saskatoon neighbourhood of Brighton, Bear Park is a pocket neighbourhood with 14 park-facing properties.

It’s a place where you imagine life at a slower pace, where your front door opens to a generous front porch, and just beyond the charming low-profile fence sits a park the kids will love, complete with a large play structure.

Bear Park offers several layouts and design options ranging from 2,000 to 2,100 square feet. Each floor plan includes a three-car tandem garage which has enough room for two cars, plus a workshop or storage area for a snowmobile, quad or other recreational vehicle.

The exteriors boast unique mountain craftsman architecture, accented with cedar, stones and some shaker shingles.

With the garage positioned at the rear of each property, the front porches can offer 300 square feet of covered space to linger and relax — whether you’re quietly enjoying the sunset or visiting with neighbours.

“It allows us to have lots of natural light into the home when you don’t have that big attached garage in front. And then you’ve got this great view out the front of your home right onto the park,” says Dream’s sales manager Chase Pokol.

Each property includes a private back deck for barbecuing or chilling with family. The homes will also come fully landscaped.

The show home showcases the Dawson floor plan, but there are two other styles to choose from — the Mackenzie and the Thompson. What sets this layout apart is the stunning two-storey foyer.

The Dawson has an extra entrance on the side which allows the floor plan to give visitors “a sense of arrival” with the two-storey foyer, according to Pokol.

The Dawson features three bedrooms in a more traditional floor plan, while the four-bedroom Mackenzie and Thompson both feature a more open-concept contemporary layout.

The owner’s suite in the Dawson boasts vaulted ceilings and a beautifully appointed ensuite, complete with a tiled shower, water closet, soaker tub, and two-sink vanity. The bedroom has vaulted ceilings accented with beams and features a wall of real brick in white and grey. According to Pokol, there are several options for a feature wall, such as wainscoting or shiplap.

Three colour palettes have been created by designer Amanda Hamilton.

“People can come in and pick their plan, pick their colour palette, but then also pick some upgrades within that colour palette and just know that everything is going to go together and yet still have that sense of customization,” says Pokol.

Of course, the biggest selling feature is going to be the park. Buyers will get to enjoy a beautiful view of the park and they won’t have to worry about kids and traffic.

To check out Saskatoon’s newest pocket neighbourhood, Bear Park, visit the show home at 530 Underhill Link Monday through Thursday from 3-9 p.m., and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from noon to 5 p.m.
