With another gorgeous weekend ahead, let’s plan on having some fun. Here are a few ideas of how to accomplish that feat:
1 Rush to lacrosse
The Saskatchewan Rush play Game 1 of a best-ofthree against the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday night at SaskTel Centre. Get out and cheer the Rush to victory. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
2 Wild costume party
The Saskatoon SPCA hosts its Cocktails and Critters fundraiser Saturday at the Western Development Museum. With a theme of Wild, Wild West, eventgoers are encouraged to wear period costume clothing or even black-tie attire. Anything goes, say organizers. Check out the website at saskatoonspca/ wildwildpets.
3 Drink some choice beer
The annual Top of the Hops — Grapes and Grains event is scheduled for tonight and Saturday night at Prairieland Park Hall B. Always fun, this event offers a chance to sample some of the best beers, wines and other beverages the market has to offer. Tickets will be available at the door for $35. It runs from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. both nights.
4 Sikh annual parade
Saskatoon’s Sikh community hosts its second annual parade Saturday afternoon starting around 11:30 a.m. Organizers hope the event will be embraced by the entire community as a way to learn about and appreciate the Sikh culture. The parade will head down 33rd Street to the Dundonald park on Wedge Road.
5 Bassment concert
Jack Semple and Dave Chobot bring their talents to The Bassment on Saturday night. For the uninitiated, these two musical masters leave you in awe of their talents. The show begins at 8 p.m.
