Carrie Underwood Coming to town next MAY

-

Songs like Jesus, Take the Wheel and Before He Cheats will blast through the speakers again at Sasktel Centre when country superstar Carrie Underwood returns to Saskatoon.

Underwood is scheduled to be back in the Bridge City on May 31, 2019 as part of her Cry Pretty 360 Tour, which will see the musician touring 55 arenas across Canada and the U.S. to promote her new album, Cry Pretty, set for release on Sept. 14.

She is scheduled to begin her tour in Greensboro, N.C., on May 1, alongside Maddie & Tae and Runaway June.

In an Instagram post announcing the tour, which features a lineup that consists solely of women, Underwood — who first rose to fame after winning American Idol in 2005 — told fans she’d see them on the road. For those curious about why the artist made the announcement so far in advance, she posted a video on Twitter to let fans know she’s having a baby.

“You might be wondering or asking ‘Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?’” the country star said in the clip, noting her husband — former NHL player Mike Fisher — and son Isaiah are “over the moon” to be expecting a second child.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Aug. 17 at 10 a.m.

Underwood has won seven Grammy Awards, sold 64 million records across the globe and recorded 26 No. 1 singles. She previously played in Saskatoon in 2016 in front of a sold-out crowd at Sasktel Centre.
