SCREAM (1996)

Madeleine Carpenter: “It’s in black and white so it seems older.” (0/1)

Isabella Iula: “It looks like Annabelle but I don’t think it’s Annabelle.” (0/1)

David Dodson: “I think I might have an idea but I have no idea.” (0/1)

Cameron Prior: “It’s a famous movie poster and I even watched the movie a couple nights ago.” (1/1)

THE EXORCIST (1973) Madeleine: “This one might be The Exorcism. I’ve only seen the comedy versions of it.” (Close enough. 1/2)

Isabella: “I imagined a totally different poster for The Exorcist.” (0/2)

David: “I want to say Nightmare on Elm Street but I’m probably wrong. I’ll say Nightmare on Elm Street because it has a street there.” (0/2)

Cameron: “I’ve seen the poster a few times.” (2/2)

THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) Madeleine: “I’m pretty sure it’s Saw.” (1/3)

Isabella: “To me, this looks a lot like one of the Friday the 13th movies. Maybe Friday the 13th Part 3.” (0/3)

David: “You’ve got Leatherface there. He has a leather face.” (1/3)

Cameron: “I can tell because it’s Leatherface and he’s holding a chainsaw.” (3/3)

HALLOWEEN (1978) Madeleine: “It kind of looks like Freddy Krueger’s hand ... but it wouldn’t be that. It has the pumpkin face.” (2/4)

Isabella: “Is this ... It’s not Halloween ... It might be Halloween. I think it’s Halloween.” (1/4) David: “This one is just selfexplanatory. Now that I say it’s self-explanatory, it’s not going to be Halloween.” (2/4)

Cameron: “Obvious.” (4/4)

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (1997) Madeleine: “I’ve never heard of that one.” (2/5)

Isabella: “I Know What You Did ... I’ve heard of the movie.” (1/5) David: “I’ve never even heard of this movie. I Know What You Did Last Summer? I don’t know what they did last summer.” (2/5) Cameron: “I’m pretty sure I knew it came from the creators of Scream.” (5/5)

IT (2017)

Madeleine: “This is the new It.”

(3/6)

Isabella: “This is the clown. ‘You’ll float, too. You’ll float, too.’ (Laughs)” (2/6)

David: “I loved in the original It, how the clown actually looked like a funny clown. In the new one, a kid isn’t going to realistically follow a very, very creepylooking clown into the drainpipes.” (3/6)

Cameron: “It’s Pennywise and he’s got the SS Georgie.” (6/6)

THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (1999)

Madeleine: “That makes sense because it’s students so there’d be a project.” (4/7)

Isabella: “Is this Phoenix Forgotten? Maybe it’s The Witch Hunter. It’s either Blair Witch or The Witch Hunter.” (2/7)

David: “That’s a classic.” (4/7) Cameron: “I’ve never seen the movie. I just know the posters for it.” (7/7)

GET OUT (2017)

Madeleine: “This one was everywhere. Get Out. Or, like, Escape.” (5/8)

Isabella: “He goes and meet his girlfriend’s parents. The Meeting. The Meeting of the Parents.” (2/8)

David: “It has a lot of undertones of racism, prejudice.” (5/8) Cameron: “Get Out.” (8/8)

JAWS (1975) Madeleine: “This is easy.” (6/9) Isabella: “Totally classic poster.” (3/9)

David: “You have a giant shark and a woman.” (6/9)

Cameron: “I know because of the shark.” (9/9)

FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980) Madeleine: “It says Friday the 13th right in this caption.” (7/10) Isabella: “This is definitely Friday the 13th. I think it might be Part 1.” (4/10)

David: “This one kind of gives it away. ‘They were warned. They are doomed. And on Friday the 13th, nothing will save them.’” (7/10)

Cameron: “I was guessing (Part 2) because that looks more like Jason Voorhees instead of Pamela Voorhees. She was the one in the original one instead of Jason.” (10/10)

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984)

Madeleine: “You can see his hat. And his face.” (8/11)

Isabella: “This is definitely Freddy Krueger.” (5/11)

David: “You’ve got Freddy Krueger.” (8/11)

Cameron: “That’s Nightmare on Elm Street.” (11/11)

FOR SOME EXTRA HALLOWEEN THRILLS ...

SCARIEST MOVIE YOU’VE EVER SEEN?

Madeleine: “Probably Coraline. The mother, when she turns into the weird snake — creepy.” Isabella: “The Human Centipede or The Exorcist. Actually, no. Poltergeist. Just the poster, walking by Poltergeist, made me go, ‘Whoa!’ ”

David: “I don’t watch that many scary movies so it’s going to be something like The Notebook.” Cameron: “It might be Jaws. The part where they’re on the boat and that decapitated head comes through ... that was the scariest thing I’d ever seen.”

WORST HALLOWEEN CANDY?

Madeleine: “Last year, I thought any kind of gum or jujubes were horrible to get because I had braces.”

Isabella: “I know a lot of people like this one but Tootsie Rolls.” David: “I’m sure everyone would say candy corn.”

Cameron: “They’re taffy. They come in an orange wrapper. I don’t even know what they’re called but they taste like raisins. Or, raisins, really.”
