Woman Tasered, charged after traffic stop
Saskatoon police used a Taser to subdue a 25-year-old woman after a traffic stop involving a stolen vehicle.
On Thursday around 8:15 p.m. in the 200 block of Avenue L South, officers stopped a vehicle that was believed to be stolen. As they approached it, the woman behind the wheel tried to drive away, police said in a news release.
Police used a Taser and took the driver into custody.
Two men in the vehicle were arrested but later released without charges.
The woman is charged with possession of stolen property, obstruction and breach of a court order.
Police will review the Taser deployment in accordance with policy.
