5 WAYS TO FILL YOUR WEEKEND

As the clock ticks closer to Christmas, here are a few weekend diversions to help maintain your focus:

-

1 Enchanted Forest If you haven’t meandered your way around the BHP Enchanted Forest Holiday Light Tour, this might be a good time to head over to the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo. Thousands and thousands of Christmas lights will surely provide a spark to your Christmas spirit.

2 Flock and Gather sale Looking for some cool, oneof-a-kind gifts to buy? This weekend at the St. Joseph’s hall on Broadway is the Flock and Gather sale. You’ll find all sorts of unique jewelry, ceramics, toys and a variety of other things all under one roof. It is open today from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3 Blades teddy bear toss Our Saskatoon Blades have a couple of heavyweight tilts this week. Today, the Moose Jaw Warriors are in town for a game beginning at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the top junior team in the country, the Prince Albert Raiders, makes a stop at Sasktel Centre. Game-time is 4 p.m. It’s also the annual teddy-bear toss game, so make sure you come armed with a new teddy bear to donate to charity.

4 Festive symphony The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra has festive fun on its plate this Saturday night at TCU Place. The 12 Days of Christmas will highlight the talents of Garry Gable, Trevor Wingerter and Eileen Laverty. Plan on getting a serious case of the Christmas feels. The music begins at 7:30 p.m.

5 Visit the Bassment Another music option is heading to The Bassment this weekend. Grant Currie will dazzle on the piano, followed by The Trudel Family tonight. On Saturday night, the Kim Salkeld Quartet is on tap. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday night.
