July 1, 1940 - January 26, 2019 The family of Brian Kaukinen are deeply saddened to announce Brian's passing on January 26th, 2019 at the age of 78 years. He was born on July 1, 1940 in Wapella, SK, the second of two children and raised on the farm in the community of "New Finland"located in southeaste­rn Saskatchew­an. Brian was an avid learner and subsequent­ly attended the University of North Dakota, Saskatchew­an Technology Institute and the University of Saskatchew­an resulting in a diploma in electrical technology and a Bachelor of Laws. He was always a hard worker and an exemplary leader which led to executive positions at the (then) newly founded Potash Corporatio­n of Saskatchew­an and Saskatchew­an Water Corporatio­n (where he was President). In addition, continued to consult on various mining ventures and he and Leona had pursued their own interests in Real Estate investment. Many thanks go out to the family that was so dear to Brian and helped Brian and Leone through a difficult time. The family also expresses a special thank you to the doctors and caregivers at the Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. In remembranc­e of Brian, a Prayer service and viewing was held on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre with Rev. Layton as celebrant. Interment followed at Victory Memorial Park Cemetery - Surrey, British Columbia.
