MORRIS, William "Bill" Wesley

-

1932 - 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Bill Morris on March 7, 2019. Bill was born in Prince Albert, SK on July 21, 1932. He hired on with the CNR in July 1952 as a fireman and worked his way to be an engineer. He moved to Saskatoon in 1956 where he met his Bride to be, Patty Fraser.

They were married in June 1957. They raised five children in the home they lived in for sixty years. Bill retired from the CN in December 1992. Bill became a Mason in 1982 and was very involved with the Mason and the WA WA Shrine. He was a Past Master of Saskatchewan Lodge No.16. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Free Mason and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland.

Bill will always be remembered for his initiative with the Memory Box program. Family was important to Bill and he was a great father and provider. Many hours were spent at the rink watching his sons play hockey and then watching the grandsons play.

Bill spent many hours in the backyard gardening where many BBQS were held with family and friends.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Ray and Rena Morris, his sisters Hazel Acorn and Joyce Long, his daughter-in-law Christine Morris and his son-in-law Brian Taylor. He is survived by his two sisters Ellen Tarasuik, Dryden, ON and Isabel Riddell, Moose Jaw, SK.

Bill will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew him but especially by his wife of 61 years, Patty. He will be also dearly missed by his children, Arlene Hiltz (Kurt Wigness) of Admiral SK, Barb Crowe (late Brian Taylor), Calvin Morris (Rona Ramsay), Darren Morris (Joanne), Patti Rear (Scott) of Sooke, BC; his eight grandchildren, Matt Hiltz (Jamie Lee), Jamie Hiltz of Red Deer, AB, Michael Crowe (Stacey Kaczmer), Maile Crowe (Sean Barclay), Jordan Morris (Shannaya Swagar) of Blackfalds, AB, Josh Morris (Danielle Camponi), Kiana Morris, Carlee and Lily Rear of Sooke, BC; and his three great-grandsons Henry and Thomas Hiltz and Lennon Barclay along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Bill can be made to the Wa Wa Shrine Patient Transportation Fund (2065 Hamilton St. Regina, SK. S4P 2E1). A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 15 at the Masonic Temple at 1021 Saskatchewan Crescent West at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com.
