Gordon was born is Prince Albert, Saskatchew­an. He was the second of four children of Margaret and Donald Chipperfie­ld.

Gordon attended Queen Elizabeth School and PACI before furthering his education at the University of Saskatchew­an in Saskatoon earning a BA in Science.

Gordon’s love of golf started at the age of 10. He learned to golf at the Cook and Waskesiu Golf courses. At the age of 14, he caddied for a blind golfer, which gave him the opportunit­y to travel to New York, Toronto and Red Deer. At the age of 17, Gordon was one of the 1964 Saskatchew­an junior men’s golf team who won the Junior Interprovi­ncial Team Championsh­ip at Charlottet­own, P.E.I. This lead to him and his teammates being inducted into the Saskatchew­an Golf Hall of Fame in 2017.

Gordon married his first wife Barbara (Dunn) in 1969. Together they had 3 children. They parted ways in 1989.

Gordon worked in various industries until he joined Investors Group in 1980. He was always brilliant with numbers and thoroughly enjoying working with people so this was a great fit. Gordon worked with IG for 40 years - until 2020.

In 2002, Gordon met his wife Kathleen (Wiggins Thompson). He also inherited 3 stepchildr­en. Gordon and Kathleen enjoyed travelling and golfing together. But especially enjoyed their combined family of 6 children and 10 grandchild­ren.

Gordon felt very lucky to have such a wonderful loving family and many close friends. He loved hosting parties so everyone could get together.

Gordon died peacefully at home with his wife Kathleen at his side.

Gordon was predecease­d by his parents; his brother-in-law Ebi Rafezadeh; and sister-in-law Valerie.

Gordon is survived by his wife Kathleen; daughter Tamara (Salim, children Emna, Noah and Zachary); son Tarek (Erika and children Bryn and Trestan); daughter Micah (Joe Dickson and child Andrew); stepson Alexander Thompson (Crystal and children Elodie and Gavin); stepdaught­er Christina Thompson; stepdaught­er Madeleine Libke (Adam and children Bennett and Ethan); his sister Patricia; brother David (Linda) and brother Brian. As well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members and close friends.

At Gordon’s request, there will be no funeral. Arrangemen­ts entrusted to Mandi Wersch of Acadia-mckague’s Funeral Centre. Condolence­s and memories may be left at acadiamcka­guesfunera­lcentre.com.
