Pedestrian hit, driver charged

RCMP charged a 24-year-old man with impaired driving causing bodily harm after a pedestrian was hit by a truck early Saturday morning on the Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Officers were called to the scene around 3:10 a.m., RCMP said in a news release on Monday.

The adult man who was struck was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but no update on his condition is available, the release stated.

The accused is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Oct. 20.
