Brady finds post-career landing spot

Quarterback to join Fox Sports when he retires

-

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will join Fox Sports as its lead analyst when the seven-time Super Bowl champion's glittering National Football League career ends, the network said on Tuesday.

The long-term agreement has Brady calling games with play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and serving as an ambassador for the network, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives, the network said in a tweet.

Brady ended a brief retirement in March when he said he would return to the Bucs for a 23rd NFL season 40 days after calling time on an age-defying career during which he established himself as arguably the greatest player in the sport's history.

The 44-year-old Brady said in a tweet he was “excited” about joining Fox but that there was “a lot of unfinished business on the field with the Buccaneers.”

Brady has appeared in a record 10 Super Bowls, winning the game's Most Valuable Player award five times, and his 15 Pro Bowl selections is the most in league history.

The Baltimore Ravens are signing free agent running back Mike Davis, ESPN reported Tuesday.

The Atlanta Falcons released the 29-year-old veteran last week to save US$2.5 million against the salary cap.

Davis rushed for 503 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games (eight starts) for the Falcons in 2021. He also caught 44 passes for 259 yards and a score.

Davis has rushed for 2,034 yards and 14 TDS in 79 games (30 starts) for five teams. He started his career with the San Francisco 49ers after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 draft.

In Baltimore, he adds experience and depth to a position that dealt with season-ending knee injuries to J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards in 2021.

The Ravens' leading rusher in each of the past three seasons was quarterback Lamar Jackson.
