Billy Talent, Theory, Lights lead lineup of performers playing Saskatoon Ex
The final performance on the Sasktel Grandstand at this year's Saskatoon Ex was announced on Friday as the Ex prepares to return to Prairieland Park for six days in August.
Los Angeles-based Canadian hard rock band Theory will play the Grandstand on Aug. 11 at 8:30 p.m. Together for nearly 20 years, the multiplatinum band recently released its seventh album, Say Nothing.
Rounding out the week, Canadian performers will take to the Grandstand stage each night at 8:30 p.m.
Alternative rock band Billy Talent kicks off the live concerts on Aug. 9. Performing for nearly 30 years, they've been among the top 10 Canadian bestselling bands for the majority of their career.
Alternative singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lights has won four Juno Awards, including two in 2020. She hits the stage Aug. 10.
The most awarded male country artist in Canadian history, Paul Brandt, performs on Aug. 12. He was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and the western Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2017.
Trooper, one of Canada's top-selling bands, will be the closing musical act for the Ex on Aug. 13. The band has become a Canadian legend, with music that remains timeless.
The Saskatoon Ex runs from Aug. 9-14 at Prairieland Park. Though the Ex parade and the pancake breakfast are suspended once again this year, the 136th annual Saskatoon Ex features indoor and outdoor entertainment for all ages. From noon to midnight each day, the event will have fair food, attractions, live concerts and midway rides.
Theme days include $10 Tuesday on Aug. 9, Kids' Day on Aug. 10 and Family Day on Aug. 14.
All concerts and shows are free with general admission. Ticket upgrades to access the standing room only front-of-stage area, first-in rush seating and box seating are available online.
Tickets can be purchased online at saskatoonex.com.
They can also be purchased in person at Circle K stores starting June 17 or at the gate during the fair.
