YOUTHS ARRESTED AFTER LATE-NIGHT DISTURBANCE
Five youths were arrested in Saskatoon on March 14 after an after-hours disturbance at Mount Royal Collegiate.
SPS said in a news release that officers were called around 10:30 p.m. to the school in the 2200 block of Rusholme Road after a report of a “community gathering taking place after a youth that had been involved in a disturbance was seen in possession of a firearm.”
SPS said that police quickly identified four male youths — aged 17, 15 and two aged 14 — and a 14-yearold female as being involved in the disturbance and isolated them away from the community gathering. When searching them, police said the officers found an imitation firearm, bear spray and an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine.
All five of the youths are facing a raft of charges relating to weapons, obstruction, drug possession and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions. No further information was provided.
