1. Laugh along to a comedy show
Canadian comedian Mike Delamont presents his one-person comedy show, God is a Scottish Drag Queen, which offers a comedic look at pop culture and humanity through the eyes of a silly, foul-mouthed Scottish deity. 2. Enjoy a celebration of a key moment in music history
The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra presents Beethoven 9 at 200, a celebration of the bicentennial of the composer's final and most recognized work. Guest conductor Judith Yan returns to lead the orchestra and choral guests through a memorable marking of the melody's anniversary. Guests include soloists Avery Lafrentz, Julie Nesrallah, Ian Cleary and Adam Lau, and eight regional choirs. The celebration is Saturday at TCU Place at 7:30 p.m. Learn more at saskatoonsymphony.org.
3. Explore a pop culture convention
The Saskatoon Entertainment Expo celebrates all things television, movies and pop culture. Meet celebrity guests and talented cosplay and creative artists, participate in the Cosplay Red Carpet and panel discussions, play tabletop games and shop the trade show. 4. Take part in an awareness walk
Jane's Walk is a series of free, volunteer-led walking tours around the city, inspired by writer and activist Jane Jacobs. Threads of Life presents Steps for Life — Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy. The family-focused, five-kilometre fundraising walk supports families affected by workplace tragedies and raises awareness to create change in workplace health and safety culture. 5. Celebrate spring the German way
The Concordia Junior Alpenrose Dancers and the KulturGarden Saskatoon host Maifest, a traditional German spring celebration. Enjoy live music and dance performances, German kuchen and refreshments.
