Council Candidate Profiles 2018 Carilyne Hébert

Seaway News - - Election 2018 - Kyle Bergeron Keith Frost

Hi Cornwall. My name is Kyle Bergeron and I feel privileged to be running as a candidate for the next City Council. I have spent almost 20 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and bring a wealth of leadership experience to the role of City Councillor. I also have a lot of vision! As a councillor I will be an advocate for keeping our waterfront an accessible green space. I am also very interested in pursuing the clean up and development of the old Domtar property. I will advocate for reducing inefficiencies in order to spend money on what our community needs and values. I am proud to have been born and raised in Cornwall. I want great things for this city, and with your help I can help steer City Council in the right direction.

I am Keith Frost and I seek your support for a seat on city council. A lifelong Cornwallite, my work experience in the healthcare and mental health fields, has allowed me to develop my skill set and has given me an appreciation for the challenges faced by many in Cornwall.

I want to be part of a team that wants to prioritize its people, fiscal responsibility and community development. I think I can add to the dynamics of City Council by bringing a fresh outlook and an approach focused on meeting the needs of all the people of our community.

Glen G. Grant

After much consolation and reflection, I have decided to submit my name for the position of City Councillor in the 2018 municipal election.

The next four years, and especially the next two years, will have many financial challenges. These challenges will require a strong and experienced City Council to discuss and resolve these challenges. The new council will need creative solutions and positive interaction between the Mayor, City Councillors, administration and senior levels of government to ensure that our community continues to grow and prosper.

It is imperative that city residents elect a City Council that have the ability and desire to work together. I believe I have the experience and qualifications to help make this happen.

For the last four years I have been honoured to serve as your City Councillor. Not only has my love for this city grown but so has my commitment to building a dynamic community that allows all residents to succeed.

My vision for Cornwall is: Environmental sustainability, social wellbeing and poverty reduction, enhancing our waterfront, building a strategic vision, and further developing arts, culture and recreational programs.

Cornwall is resilient and has a great opportunity to thrive. I would be proud to continue to be a voice for community growth, social justice and the environment. On October 22nd, vote Carilyne Hébert.
