Are you ready for Freddy?

-

wary of strangers so she did not allow Freddy to roam freely in the store. While in her care, Freddy put on some much needed weight and he proved to be a very quick study. He is a smart and an engaged learner and knows his basic commands.

Freddy is a really great dog who needs a high energy, active adopter who will keep him on the go. Given his intelligence and need for exercise it is very important that he gets daily vigorous exercise and stimulation. A leisurely stroll won’t cut it. He needs to run and then run some more. Freddy will be an excellent jogging partner and the breed is known to be an avid swimmer.

True to his breed, Freddy is a natural retriever and while in his previous home he did, on a couple of occasions, disappear into the woods in pursuit of a bird or other small game only to return many hours later. He cannot therefore be trusted off leash except in a securely fenced area. Additionally, Freddy cannot live in a home with cats or other small furry animals.

When he gets the exercise that he needs, Freddy is a happy and fun dog who is well behaved in the house. He is dog social and interacts and plays very well with the other dogs at the shelter.

In the right home he'll be a wonderful and very engaged companion. If you like this breed, Freddy won't disappoint. Freddy is best suited to a home without young children and while breed experience is certainly a bonus if you are active and ready to give him the love and exercise he needs, we'd love to hear from you.
