All Saint’s Guild, Dunham

-

Seven members of the Guild gathered for a short meeting on May 6. We opened in prayer and then proceeded to hear the reports read. The secretary read minutes from the previous meeting. They were signed and accepted.

The Treasurer’s report was given by Claire. We were happy to hear that we have a healthy balance in our account: good work ladies!

Fran Shaw reported on our flower fund and the Memorial Fund. All is in good order.

Business arising from the minutes; a funeral will be held at All Saints for Mavis Rembolt at two o’clock on June 13. A Mother’s Day Brunch will be held on May 10. Plans for this event were reviewed. June 9, a meeting of Deacons will be held at All Saints. The Guild has been asked to cater a lunch of soup and sandwiches.

July 3 - plans are underway to hold a salad luncheon that will begin at 11:30 a.m. A donation of $10.00 will be accepted. Rumors of old fashioned strawberry shortcake (biscuits) for dessert. Scrumptious! Coffee and cookies were enjoyed when the meeting closed.

Mother’s Day Brunch

Guests were greeted by the beauty of spring when they entered the hall to enjoy a hearty brunch.

Tablecloths of white, rose, pale green and cream covered the tables centered with cases of yellow daffodils. Serviettes were of pale yellow and green. A delicious buffet of baked ham, roasted potatoes, baked beans, eggs and coleslaw was enjoyed by hungry guests. As well, there was a selection of homemade rolls and muffins offered. A tray of fruit and a selection of cakes, tea and coffee completed the meal.

Door prizes of marigolds were offered as well as maple syrup from the Stobbs farm. Army surplus in Dunham also assisted with the door prizes. Lucky winners were Ben Martin, Charlotte Westcott, Alice Hadlock, Stephanie Hadlock, Mrs. Spencer, Carol Stevens and Betty Castle. Congratulations!

Thank you to all who attended the brunch. Your support means so much to us. Thank you as well to all who prepared and worked at the Brunch. We want you to remember to mark July 3 on your calendar for a salad luncheon at All Saint’s.
