Austin W.I. monthly meeting

-

The May meeting of the Austin W.I. took place at the Austin Town Hall on Wednesday, May 13, co-hosted by Marjorie Glassford and Lise Desbois.

Marjorie opened the meeting at 1:30 with the M.S. Collect and Salute to the Canadian Flag.

Motto: An apple is more effective than caffeine for waking you in the morning.

Roll Call: What do you like to do on a rainy day and was answered by 7 members with jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, cleaning out cupboards or curling up with a good book.

Secretary Liz Goodwin read the minutes from the April meeting and Treasurer Betty Telford presented the Financial Report to date. All were approved. Bea Juby gave a report on the Brome County semi-annual meeting which had been attended by herself, Tina Linde and Betty Telford. This branch had consented to join the Brome County in giving Bursaries to students continuing their education.

More plans were discussed for our next fundraiser to take place in the Austin Municipal Park on June 29, 2015.

The monthly drawing, bought by Betty T., was won by Lisette Maille. Next month to be supplied by Marjorie Glassford.

After the saying of the W.I. Grace, all enjoyed a delicious tea including assorted cookies, mini pizzas and topped off with a huge strawberry cheese cake.

Many thanks were given to the cohosts and Austin Town hall for their kind hospitality.

The June meeting to take place at the home of Bea Juby in Austin on Wednesday, June 10. The roll call to be: What you do to cope with tension or stress.

Publicity, Betty Cochrane Telford
