River Town Saints at the Hut May 19

Nothing small about Ottawa-based band

-

“saloon” ambience.

The band River Town Saints is from Ottawa, Ontario — Chris Labelle, Chris Mccomb, Jeremy Bortot, Jordan Potvin, and Daniel Digiacomo. Labelle, Mccomb, and Bortot formed the trio Labelle in 2013, later adding Potvin and Digiacomo and changing their name to River Town Saints.

The group began playing shows around their hometown in 2014 and ended-up signing a recording contract with Open Road Recordings in 2015 and released their debut single, “A Little Bit Goes a Long Way,’ in November of that same year.

The song debuted on the Billboard Canada Country Chart in January 2016. A music video, filmed in Ottawa, premiered on CMT the following month. Their follow-up single, “Cherry Bomb,” was released in May of 2016, peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Canadian Country Charts.

The band released their third single, “Bonfire,” in January of 2017, and it was their first song to debut on the Canadian Country Top 40. It went on to become the band’s first Top 10 hit in April 2017, peaking at No. 9. The song is a catchy, upbeat number about friends in a small town, going downtown to party and “light it up like a bonfire.”

Led by the strong vocals of Chris Labelle, River Town Saints’ incredible energy has already got them on stage as opening act for Tim Hicks, Eli Young Band, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Tim Mcgraw.

Their beginnings may have been in small towns around the Ottawa River, but quickly, they proved that there was nothing small about the River Town Saints. They have invested themselves fully into their music, working hard and it is taking them a long way.

The past summer took the group on the festival circuit, impressing fans and winning new ones with their dynamic live show. Their debut album should be released this year.

In 2016 the band was nominated for the CCMA award in the Rising Star category. The band members have perfected the balance between uplifting melodies, catchy hooks, and very tight harmonies, which got them some well-deserved attention.

With their fresh blend of country, rock, and a twinge of pop, River Town Saints present a really polished live show that displays the fun personalities of each one of the members and their respective, impressive talent.

Labelle, the charming lead singer, is well supported by the slick guitars and tight harmonies contributed by all of the band members. Their online presence is extremely strong

(www.rivertownsaints.com) and the boys do a great job of keeping things fun for the fans, while letting people see inside their daily lives as musicians.

With all that talent to electrify the crowds, River Town Saints is a name we should be hearing of in the future.
