Our monthly meeting was on April 18 at the Elie Carrier Center.

Our president, Shirley Desruisseaux started the meeting with jokes/stories. She then announced that our member, Wilson May, had passed away. She said a small prayer and we had a minute of silence. We also had a small prayer for another member, Joe Cutler, who is not well.

Some announcements: Suzanne Martin told us of the Fermières St-marc’s annual exposition on April 22 and Shirley said that the May meeting could be the last one of the season. Monthly drawings were won by Wilma Cushing, Joan Baldwin, Jessica Benoit and Jim Bailey. The participation prizes were won by Betty Haskell and Susan Beaton. Birthdays this month were Penny Fowler, Leta Dustin and Arnold Mackeage.

Our speaker this month is Shanon Paxton from the Charron & fils Funeral Home. She talked to us about the difference between various legal forms, some necessary anytime and others at specific times in our life. It’s the second time she has been with us but there always seems to be something new to learn. Thank you Shanon.

Our next meeting is on May 16 at the Elie Carrier Center. Our speaker will be Debbie Roy. Members will receive a call ascertaining their presence. As usual if you gave your name for the lunch and can’t make it, please contact Shirley Desruisseaux before Thursday, May 11 at 819-849-6170. For your information, this is our last meeting until September and we will be having elections at that time.

Shirley Desruisseaux, President Suzanne Martin, Secretary
