Featured pet: Dixie

-

We first ran Dixie in early July along with her companion Teddy who has since been adopted.

Dixie has been in our care since mid June. A senior, we would love to place her in a loving forever home as soon as possible.

Dixie, who is blind in one eye, is calm and well behaved and she has accepted her current lot in life with grace and dignity. She is a noble and stoic dog who impresses us all with her sweet and gentle nature.

At 12, Dixie deserves to be in a home.

While she may be grey around the muzzle, Dixie still enjoys her outings and is perfectly happy to stroll at her own pace and indulge in life’s simpler pleasures.

She is friendly and relaxed with people, gets along well with other dogs and can live with cats. Dixie is a mixed breed (likely a Mastiff/labrador mix).

We know that finding a home for an older dog isn’t always as easy as placing their younger counterparts, but we also know that there are people out there who open their homes and hearts to even the most senior of dogs. We just need to make the connection.

Dixie deserves to spend her remaining years in a home where she feels safe and loved. She has earned the right to live each and every day to the fullest, surrounded by people who make her feel like she is the centre of their world.
