Rotary Club of the Boundary recognizes local young people with scholarships and prizes
In August people’s thoughts turn towards the beginning of school. During the summer the Rotary Club of the Boundary recognized the achievements of some interesting local students.
Each year Boundary gives two vocational scholarships to students who have enrolled in career-oriented programs. Each scholarship is worth $750, which is paid to the institution to cover tuition fees.
Two students who just graduated from Galt received our Vocational Scholarships. Kaitlyn Palmer will be studying Special Care Counselling at Champlain College and Cameron Wing will be studying the maintaining and operating of big machines at Quatre-vingt Juin in Sherbrooke. Boundary wishes these two young people best of luck in their studies.
At the end of the last school year Boundary gave awards to nine students graduating from Ayer’s Cliff Elementary, North Hatley Elementary and Sunnyside Elementary.
At Sunnyside Jordan Roy won the Jack Minty Award for improvement in math; Kimberly Boudreau won the improvement prize in Language Arts and Britney Chamberlain the award for improvement in French.
At North Hatley and Ayer’s Cliff Elementary Schools prizes were given to students for being an example of Rotary values - honesty, fairness, goodwill, peace and service to others.
In North Hatley the recipients were Olivia Chute-hale, Noah Ride and Sarina Rouleau-clark. In Ayer’s Cliff the awards were won by Alicia Begin-auclair, Emilio Vincent and Patrick Lavallee.
Boundary wishes these students the best of luck for their time in high school.
Boundary would like to thank the principals and staff at the schools for their time and attention to choosing the recipients of these awards.
