Bishop’s Golfers Punch Tickets to Canadian Championsh­ips

MONTREAL – Nicolas Dupuis-gaudreault (St-jean-sur-richelieu, Que./st. Michael's College) fired rounds of 80-7577 to lead the Bishop's Gaiters at the RSEQ Championsh­ips held at the Beaconsfie­ld Golf Club from Oct. 1-3. As a team Bishop's finished in 5th, 3rd and 7th on each day and that placed them fourth overall on the year. The fourth place showing punches their ticket to the Canadian University/college Golf Championsh­ips in May. It will be the first time since the event's inception that Bishop's will be there as a team.

Men's Basketball: Kamane scores 25 but Gaiters fall to Uvic, 92-84

LANGFORD, B.C. – The Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team suffered their third loss of the season on Thursday, as they fell to the University of Victoria Vikes, 92-84 at Belmont Secondary School in Langford, B.C.

Men's Basketball: Gaiters do 90+ but fall to T-birds

VANCOUVER - Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./vanier College) had his second 20-point game in as many days, but it was not enough for the Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team, who fell 99-92 to the UBC Thunderbir­ds on the first day of the UBC Invitation­al in Vancouver. Kamane had a team-high 21 points on 6-for-12 shooting and was 8-for-12 from the freethrow line.

Men's Basketball: Gaiters drop highscorin­g contest to Alberta

VANCOUVER - The Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team had five players score in double figures, but fell 111-84 to the Alberta Golden Bears on Day 2 of the UBC Invitation­al in Vancouver. The Golden Bears made 17 three-pointers in the game, as they shot 56 per cent overall and 53 per cent from downtown.

Martlets March Past Gaiters in Thanksgivi­ng Showdown

MONTREAL – Emily Norris (Stanstead, Que./stanstead College)kicked a penalty to put the Bishop's University women's rugby team up 3-0 in the early stages against the Mcgill Martlets on Friday evening in Montreal. The contest was the front end of a Thanksgivi­ng rugby double-header at Percival Molson Stadium between the long-time rivals. The early advantage was as close as the Lennoxvill­e ruggers could get as the host Martlets stormed back and eventually walked away with a 40-8 victory.

Gaiters Fall to Redmen in Friday Night Match-up

MONTREAL – Josh Bray (Lennoxvill­e, Que./bishop's College School) scored 11 points for the Gaiters on Friday night in Montreal but it was not enough as the Mcgill Redmen won 17-13 over Bishop's.

Late Field Goals give Axemen Comeback win over Gaiters

SHERBROOKE, Que. – A pair of fourthquar­ter field goals by Jarett Saumure gave the Acadia University Axemen a 2724, come-from-behind, victory over the Bishop's University Gaiters in Atlantic University Sport football action at Coulter Field in Lennoxvill­e, Saturday. The rookie place kicker from Timberlea, N.S. connected on a 10-yarder with 4:51 left to tie the game, and his 21-yarder with 1:55 left put the visitors ahead, capping an Acadia comeback from 24-12 down in the third quarter.

Excalibur Edge Gaiters in Thanksgivi­ng Battle

SHERBROOKE, Que. – Hat-tricks, by Taren Cook (Rothesay N.b./holderness School) and Samuel Firth (Ottawa, Ont.) were not enough to give the Gaiters lacrosse team the win on Sunday afternoon. They fell 15-11 to the Trent Excalibur in CUFLA East action.
