The Missisquoi North Volunteer Centre (CABMN) Partage/share Food Bank in Potton is preparing for its Annual Christmas Basket distribution to those in need in Potton and Bolton East areas during the holidays.
The mandate of the Partage/share Committee is to help provide essential food and household consumables where need exists in the community. Meetings of the Partage/share Committee are conducted with compassion, with all members of the committee respecting the privacy and confidentiality of clients.
The committee currently consists of five members: Claire Alger, June Peacock, Charles Laurin, Roger Gagné and Christian Donaldson. Jennifer Mcgeean, employee of the CAB offers support when needed to the committee.
According to its Annual Report, the Committee responded to 37 requests for Food Bank during the year 2016 to 2017 and last year provided Christmas baskets to 32 families with the help of 17 (elves) volunteers and 8 volunteer drivers.
Partage/share is proud to be part of the CAB Volunteer Centre family. While the CAB offers many diverse programs for seniors, youth, intellectually impaired and those in need, the Partage/share is especially vital during the holiday season although it is active all year long.
« The holiday season is again fast approaching, » explained P/S committee member, June Peacock. « At this time of the year, the committee encourages you to remember those in need.”
We encourage monetary gifts (mailed or delivered) and non-perishable foods; both greatly appreciated. Please drop non-perishable foods in one of the containers located in the area or bring them to the Missisquoi North Volunteer Centre at 314-B rue Principale, Mansonville (Québec) J0E 1X0.
To register for a basket, please respect the following: To receive a basket you must come to the Volunteer Centre and fill out a form between: NOVEMBER 1, 2017 TO DECEMBER 1, 2017. Please be reminded that all requests are of course, treated confidentially.
CABMN President and Chairperson of the Partage/share committee, Charles Laurin, is quick to emphasize the volunteer contribution of so many who make the Food Bank a success in the Potton and East Bolton areas.
“To the many volunteers and to those who so generously donate to the Partage/share program throughout the year, Partage/share and the CABMN thank you for your time, support and contribution to its longstanding program.”
