The perfect home for a long life

-

We all want to live in the perfect home for a long life and there may come a time when our needs and our lifestyles lead us to consider down-sizing and re-locating. Ultimately, we hope to balance our current needs with our future needs but our choices are not always clean cut and decisions can be difficult.

Do you think about wanting to reduce the demands of running a large house? Would you like to spare your children the clean-up after you are gone?

If you are interested in learning more about the important steps to take today to house yourself for the future, join Townshippers’ Association on Friday, November 3 at St. Paul’s United Church hall (211 rue des Pins, Magog), for our monthly Food for Thought lunch.

Guest speaker, Lois Hardacker, an experienced real estate broker, will share ideas and lessons learned as we consider our options and make those tough decisions about housing ourselves.

Join us at noon for a lunch of stuffed baked potatoes, mango bean salad, cole slaw, and lemon meringue pie (cost $7 at the door), and stay for the presentation at 1 pm.

Food For Thought’s 2017-2018 sessions are made possible by the Tillotson Coaticook Region Fund, and is a CHSSN initiative funded by Health Canada through the Roadmap for Canada’s Official Languages 2013-2018: Education, Immigration, Communities.

Get creative at the Colour Café

If the beautiful autumn weather has inspired you to bring more colour into your life in the coming months, we have the perfect activity to fill your long autumn evenings – the Colour Café!

Head to the Maison de la Culture John Henry Pope in Cookshire (the building formerly known as the Rectory of St. Peter’s Church) on Wednesday, November 8, for some colouring and conversation from 6 to 8 pm. Everyone is welcome and there’s no cost. We’ll even have tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and light snacks ready for you.

So, pack up your colouring pencils and your books and come and join us – or simply stop by if you don’t have your own supplies… we’ll have everything you need! If you can’t make it this month, the Colour Café takes place the second Wednesday of each month from now until May.
