Violinist Valérie Arsenault at Plymouth Trinity United
La Maison d'opéra et de Concerts de Sherbrooke is kicking off the new year with well-known viola player Valérie Arsenault, who has collaborated with numerous prestigious ensembles and violinist Angèle Dubeau in the past.
Known for her expressiveness, Arsenault will be performing at Sherbrooke’s Plymouth Trinity United Church on January 14 at 3 p.m. with interpretations of some of the world’s great composers.
Arsenault has worked with several well-known formations in Quebec, including the Arion Orchestre Baroque, les Violons du Roy, and the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-rivières, to name just a few. Internationally, she has had the honour of joining the Verbier Festival Orchestra, in Switzerland, under the direction of Charles Dutoit and Valery Gergiev. She has also participated in numerous other festivals and academies in Germany, Austria, France, the Czech Republic, Palestine, China and the United States.
A former student of Jutta Puchhammer at the Université de Montréal, she is passionate about spreading the love of music and teaches at the Cégep de Saintlaurent and is the director of MEMO Histoires de musique, an organization devoted to the sharing of musicological knowledge and to the democratization of classical music through immersive performances.
Tickets will be on sale at the door at Plymouth Trinity Church, 380 Dufferin Street. General Admission is $ 35.00; 25 years and under: $15.00; 65 and over: $30.00.
