‘To bee, or not to bee...’
Brome County Historical Society
That is the question around the Brome County Museum these days! Unfortunately, “Stitches in Time,” our highly anticipated special exhibit featuring heirloom quilts from our collection, is not to be, at least not in the month of January as originally planned.
Owing to the recent commencement of renovations to the old fire hall that houses museum collections, the staff of the BCHS have had to make scheduling changes to aid with and accommodate the work. For this reason, they have postponed the opening of the quilt exhibit until late February or early March. The revised dates for “Stitches in Time” will be published in the Brome County News.
In the meantime, special programming does continue at the museum with the Marion L. Phelps Memorial Lecture Series with Jimmy Manson. Six in-depth presentations on subjects pertaining to the history of the Eastern Townships, the series is a long-standing tradition at the BCHS and one that attracts a sizable crowd — when the weather cooperates! So far, that has not been the case in 2018, so the lecture schedule has been modified to adjust for a recent cancellation owing to a snow storm. Please note the revised dates of the remaining five lectures are January 20 and 27 and February 10, 17, and 24.
