FULFORD REVIEW - 2017 Part Two
for
Fulford United Church - Seasonal services began on Mother’s Day, with Rev. Tom Edmonds and our organist, Susan Reininger, both of whom are much appreciated. Easter (delayed) and communion were celebrated; each woman received a red rose. At Thanksgiving, there was a hymn-sing of favourites. Our closing service was followed by a reception featuring Brazil’s national dishes, thanks to Aparecida and Lawrence Smith and Rita-claire Edmonds - what a treat. A number of guests were welcomed during the season.
The Christmas Eve service was led by Bev Quilliams and Carla Wright and presented “The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey,” by Susan Wojciechowski, with participants, Andra, Izach and Jacob Quilliams, Dylan and Evan Wright,, narrated by Shannon Gavrilchuk. Hot chocolate and cookies were enjoyed.
A group from Fulford United has been reading and discussing books: “The Great Emergence,” by Phyllis Tickle, and ‘“Two Old Women,” an Alaskan legend, by Velma Wallis. Our leader, Tom, has also written his memoirs, “Through Thick and Thin.”
