Man arrested for driving drunk with toddlers in car
A44-year-old Sherbrooke man was arrested in an advanced state of intoxication on Sunday afternoon as he was driving through Magog with his two children in the car.
Officers from the Memphrémagog Police arrested the man at about 2:30 pm on Highway 10. The man registered more than twice the legal limit in a breathalyzer test.
"The patrol officers arrested him immediately and the two children, aged 2 and 6, were handed over to their mother," said Memphremagog Police Lt. Sylvain Guay.
Because the man registered more than 0.16 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood – or more than twice the limit-- his vehicle was seized for 30 days. In addition, his driver's license was suspended for 90 days. He will have to appear at the Sherbrooke courthouse at a later date.
