Man ar­rested for driv­ing drunk with tod­dlers in car

A44-year-old Sher­brooke man was ar­rested in an ad­vanced state of in­tox­i­ca­tion on Sun­day af­ter­noon as he was driv­ing through Ma­gog with his two chil­dren in the car.

Of­fi­cers from the Mem­phré­m­a­gog Po­lice ar­rested the man at about 2:30 pm on High­way 10. The man reg­is­tered more than twice the le­gal limit in a breath­a­lyzer test.

"The pa­trol of­fi­cers ar­rested him im­me­di­ately and the two chil­dren, aged 2 and 6, were handed over to their mother," said Mem­phrem­a­gog Po­lice Lt. Syl­vain Guay.

Be­cause the man reg­is­tered more than 0.16 mg of al­co­hol per 100 ml of blood – or more than twice the limit-- his ve­hi­cle was seized for 30 days. In ad­di­tion, his driver's li­cense was sus­pended for 90 days. He will have to ap­pear at the Sher­brooke court­house at a later date.
