Bedford Township is preparing its centennial

-

Pierrette Messier and Barbara Potvin, councillors Centennial Festivities Committee

The Municipality of Bedford Township will celebrate its centennial in 2019. To this end, a committee comprised of citizens, elected officials, and municipal employees held its first meeting last Thursday. Upon deliberation of the committee, a preliminary outline of a schedule of activities has already been drafted. (Celebration under the big top, block party, cyclothon, etc...)

Moreover, the committee is currently working on the creation of a booklet entitled ‘’The Township’s 100 Years,’’ which will document historical milestones in the township’s development. We are thus looking for pictures, pertinent documents and important facts of the Township since 1919. We wish, therefore, to solicit the help of all citizens of the township and surrounding region to contact us if you have any such documents or any other information on hand which could be of interest for inclusion in our booklet.

The committee meets weekly at the municipal office under the supervision of municipal councillors Pierrette Messier and Barbara Potvin, and is comprised of the following citizens: Denis Coupal, Claudette Hamon, Stella Maurice, Nancy H. Jones, Amber Ryan, and Manon Blanchet, director general of the municipality.
