Featured pet: Pussy Willow

-

We've had really good luck the past few months finding wonderful homes for cats who are shy, senior or in need of special care. We're hoping our luck hasn't run out.

In early July we featured two cats, Simon and Pussy Willow, both of whom came into our care when their loving owning Mary passed away. Mary was a kind and compassionate friend to animals and a long time volunteer for the shelter. With the help of her family, most of her cats, all very well cared for, were rehomed but two, Simon and Pussy Willow were brought to us for placement into loving homes.

Simon was adopted in August but Pussy Willow remains in our care. It would be wonderful to find a quiet and calm home for this incredibly sweet girl who is very much loved by all of us at the shelter.

A little shy at first, once Pussy Willow knows you mean her no harm, she is very affectionate and loves to be fussed over. Once she knows you, she is very friendly.

Although she did live in a home with other cats, Pussy Willow is fearful and timid around the cats in the colony. When living amongst them, she was not a happy girl and would retreat into her own little corner. So as not to stress her, we've set her up in our laundry room where she can live peacefully on her own but it's not an ideal solution long-term. We know she is lonely.

Pussy Willow is a lovely grey tabby who is approximately 5-6 years old.

We feel confident that she will do just fine in a home with another calm cat who isn't dominant or overly assertive.

If you can offer this gentle girl a loving home where she will feel safe and loved, we would really like to hear from you. We have a special spot in our hearts for Pussy Willow given our friendship with Mary. Please help us spread the word by sharing her story (you can share from our facebook page at www.facebook.com/frontieranimalsociety).

To inquire about adoption, please send an email to frontieranimalsociety@gmail.com or come meet her at our cat adoption open house which takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m to noon at 2405 Griffin in Ogden.
