North Hat­ley ‘Meet the Can­di­dates’ date change

In Fri­day’s Record, an ar­ti­cle men­tioned that there would be a ‘Meet the Can­di­dates’ event lead­ing up to the by-elec­tion in North Hat­ley.

The event, or­ga­nized by the Friends Amis North Hat­ley (­ will take place on Thurs­day, Oct. 11 (not Wed­nes­day, Oct.10 as men­tioned).

The meet­ing will take place at 7 p.m. at the Uni­tar­ian-uni­ver­sal­ist Church, 201 Main Street, North Hat­ley.

Two can­di­dates are com­pet­ing for the va­cant seat; Aaron Patella and Vin­cent Dionne. A third can­di­date with­drew from the by-elec­tion late last week.

The can­di­dates will be asked to in­tro­duce them­selves.

A mod­er­a­tor will then ask some pre­pared ques­tions, fol­lowed by a ques­tion-and-an­swer pe­riod with cit­i­zens. Vot­ing will take place next week. The ad­vance poll will be on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 14 from noon to 8 p.m. Elec­tion day is Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 21 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The polling sta­tion is lo­cated at the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, 3127 Capel­ton Road.
