King’s Hall sold

Sherbrooke Record - - LOCAL NEWS - Record Staff

Compton's King's Hall and its 10-acre lot have been sold to a consortium from Toronto, who want to develop a French or English immersion school for the Chinese community beginning in 2022.

The real estate team of the Lafleurdavey Bernard Thibault led the transaction between the former owners and the consortium.

According to the broker's comments picked up by Radio-canada, the new owners want to renovate the interior of the building and convert it into an English or French immersion boarding school for Chinese high school students.

The siding would be retained and the school will be located in the Queen's Hall section. According to the broker, investors do not want to isolate themselves from the local community and plan to give citizens access to the swimming pool.

The consortium, known as King's Hall Education Inc., is made up of three individuals and was registered in August of this year. The sale price has not been disclosed yet, but the property evaluation is at $1.3 million according to the municipal assessment roll.
