Feds in­vest $11.5 mil­lion in Udes Health re­search

Comp­ton-stanstead MP Marieclaude Bibeau an­nounced an in­vest­ment of $11.5 by the fed­eral Min­istry of Health to sup­port 16 re­search projects at the Univer­sité de Sher­brooke.

The Min­is­ter spoke about the in­vest­ment while tour­ing the di­a­betes re­search lab of Dr. An­dré Car­pen­tier, who re­ceived a $1 mil­lion grant to study the role of brown fat in obe­sity and type 2 di­a­betes. His find­ings will help guide ef­forts to pre­vent and treat di­a­betes, which is af­fect­ing a grow­ing number of Cana­di­ans.
