Exploring the brain: Neuro-show at the Granada

How does the human brain develop from birth to death? The CIUSSS de l’estrie – CHUS is inviting people to explore this complex organ and marvel at the miracles it is capable of during an entertaini­ng play, which will take place at the Granada Theater on Dec. 4, as part of the Neuroshow.

Following the performanc­e, there will be a discussion period where11 expert research professors from the CIUSSS de l’estrie – CHUS will answer questions on a variety of brain-related subjects.

Topics to be discussed are:

1. Brain cancer and neurosurge­ry;

2. Imaging techniques to target cancer;

3. Aging, Cognitive Disorders and Stroke;

4. Post stroke rehabilita­tion;

5. Chronic Pain Management, Rehabilita­tion and Physiother­apy;

6. Chronic pain, neurophysi­ology and pharmacolo­gy;

7. The effects of cannabis and opioids in relation to pain;

8. Aging, Nutrition and Alzheimer's Disease;

9. Aging and nutrition (effect of omega-3 fats);

10. Control and learning of movement and rehabilita­tion;

11. Cognitive functions and altered states of mind (by mood, drugs, stress, pathologie­s, etc.).
