Christmas Long Ago

Sherbrooke Record - - CLASSIFIED -

Christmas meant so much to me

When I was just a child

We went to the forest for a Christmas tree And the day was usually mild

The tree was decorated

With strings of popcorn you see

The lights were candles with holders Lighted, then blew out with glee!

To-day it’s very different

With artificial trees and electric lights And we smell the balsam

Candles, replaced by electric lights

Oh! The days of yester years Were simple and plain you see Everyone enjoyed each other It’s so different now for me!
