Featured pet: Samuel
Samuel is a happy, active and playful pup. He is very people oriented and being a bit submissive, he is quick to roll over for a belly rub. A real charmer, he knows how to work his magic on everyone he meets.
Always eager for an outing, Samuel walks well with a front clip harness and just needs a little more work to master his leash skills. He loves his treats, so they are a great motivator for training. When out in our dog park, he takes full advantage of the opportunity to run and play but he calms down when asked and for the most part he is very obedient.
One limitation is that Samuel must be the only dog in the home and because he does not tolerate dominant dogs, he is not a dog park dog. He isn’t, however, reactive when seeing other dogs when out on walks although he will sometimes get a little excited when he spots another dog.
Samuel is 2.5-3 years old and he is believed to be a Bernese/rottweiller mix. He isn’t overly large but has a solid, stocky build and he is strong. He weighs approximately 80 pounds.
Samuel really enjoys his walks and he will do best with an adopter who is committed to ensuring he gets the exercise and mental stimulation he needs.
