39th Novice-orama begins with Sherbrooke, Victoriaville wins
Two games were on the menu Tuesday night to kick off C class activities in the 39th edition of the Novice-o-rama hockey tournament. In the "C" novice class, the Sherbrooke Phoenix trailed after two periods of play against the Coaticook Dynamik. Cassyanne Giguère and Theo Coulombe scored quickly for Coaticook to take 2-0 lead before seeing Jeff Doyon-jutras cut the gap to 2-1. Sherbrooke evened the mark in the final minutes of regulation time, as Zachary Bouffard sent both teams into overtime. William Sylvain of Sherbrooke struck early in extended play by scoring the winning goal after only 30 seconds of play.
The Tigres 3 of Victoriaville beat out the Val St-françois Promutuel 1 by 3-1. Samuel Crête scored two goals in the victory and Jordan Cloutier scored the other.. The only goal for the Promutuel came at the hands of Jerome Russell
The action continues tonight (Wednesday) with three games beginning at 5 pm at the Centre Julien-ducharme. The Phoenix will take on the Waterloo Maroon at 5 pm, the Granby Aigles take on the Drummondville Volitgeurs Vert at 6 pm, and The Aigles will tackle the Lac Mégantic Turmel at 7.
