When I was young, I used my $0.50 allowance to go to the store and buy a bag of Cajun Spice Ruffles.

I was stoked to dig in, but before I did, my older sister reminded me that I should share, pointing to a neighbour looking over the fence longingly at my chip bag.

I opened the bag and offered little Gino a chip.

He reached into the bag and grabbed as many as his little hand could hold, leaving me with just a few crumbs. I learned two lessons that day.

The first was that my generosity was a reflection on me, and his greed was on him.

The second lesson was ‘just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.’

I can have all the chips I want now-except Cajun Spice-they don’t make them anymore.

I still share. I wonder how many Gino takes.
